He has ac­ted in num­e­rous court and ar­bi­tra­ti­on pro­cee­dings (in­clu­ding ar­bi­tra­ti­on pro­cee­dings ac­cor­ding to ICC, DIS, GMAA ru­les and ad-hoc) and is re­gu­lar­ly ap­poin­ted as ar­bi­tra­tor. Mar­tin al­so ad­vi­ses cli­ents in other dis­pu­te re­so­lu­ti­on pro­ce­du­res such as ex­pert de­ter­mi­na­ti­on pro­cee­ding, me­dia­ti­on and in out-of-court dis­pu­tes.

Mar­tin is qua­li­fied as a spe­cia­list for in­ter­na­tio­nal busi­ness law (sin­ce 2014). He has par­ti­cu­lar ex­per­ti­se in brin­ging and de­fen­ding cross-bor­der and­mul­ti-ju­ris­dic­tion­al claims.

Mar­tin most fre­quent­ly acts in dis­pu­tes in the are­as of com­mer­cial con­tracts, off­shore wind, plant con­s­truc­tion and ma­chi­ne en­gi­nee­ring, ship buil­ding and sup­pli­er in­dus­try.

Mar­tin stu­di­ed law in Müns­ter, Ham­burg and Nij­me­gen (Ne­t­her­lands) and re­cei­ved a Ph.D. in law (Dr. iur.) wi­th a doc­to­ral the­sis in the area of in­ter­na­tio­nal com­mer­cial law (CISG).. Be­fo­re joi­ning LE­BUHN & PUCH­TA in 2012 he was mem­ber of the litigation/​arbitration prac­ti­ce of a lea­ding in­ter­na­tio­nal law firm for ma­ny ye­ars. He re­gu­lar­ly speaks on com­mer­cial law to­pics and is the aut­hor of se­ve­ral pu­bli­ca­ti­ons, in­clu­ding the sec­tion on “Ar­bi­tra­ti­on” in the le­gal com­men­ta­ry  pu­blished by Fritz/​Pielsticker.

Mar­tin is a lec­tu­rer in In­ter­na­tio­nal Con­tract and Com­mer­cial Law at Fre­se­ni­us Uni­ver­si­ty of Ap­pli­ed Sci­ence, Ham­burg.
