Martin specialises in litigation and arbitration.
He has acted in numerous court and arbitration proceedings (including arbitration proceedings according to ICC, DIS, GMAA rules and ad-hoc) and is regularly appointed as arbitrator. Martin also advises clients in other dispute resolution procedures such as expert determination proceeding, mediation and in out-of-court disputes.
Martin is qualified as a specialist for international business law (since 2014). He has particular expertise in bringing and defending cross-border andmulti-jurisdictional claims.
Martin most frequently acts in disputes in the areas of commercial contracts, offshore wind, plant construction and machine engineering, ship building and supplier industry.
Martin studied law in Münster, Hamburg and Nijmegen (Netherlands) and received a Ph.D. in law (Dr. iur.) with a doctoral thesis in the area of international commercial law (CISG).. Before joining LEBUHN & PUCHTA in 2012 he was member of the litigation/arbitration practice of a leading international law firm for many years. He regularly speaks on commercial law topics and is the author of several publications, including the section on “Arbitration” in the legal commentary published by Fritz/Pielsticker.
Martin is a lecturer in International Contract and Commercial Law at Fresenius University of Applied Science, Hamburg.
