Ted is ad­mit­ted to prac­ti­ce as a so­li­ci­tor in Eng­land and Wales, and ad­vi­ses on Eng­lish law. He is al­so ad­mit­ted to prac­ti­ce as a la­wy­er (Rechts­an­walt) in Ger­ma­ny and is a mem­ber of the Pa­ris Bar. He acts for cli­ents across the en­t­i­re spec­trum of ma­ri­ti­me busi­ness law, in­clu­ding the off­shore wind sec­tor. Ted has ex­ten­si­ve ex­pe­ri­ence in mat­ters in­vol­ving ship­buil­ding con­tracts, the purcha­se and sa­le of ships, ship fi­nan­ce, char­ter par­ties and ship ma­nage­ment con­tracts as well as com­plex cross-bor­der dis­pu­tes.

Ted ad­vi­ses cli­ents in nego­tia­ti­ons for plant con­struc­tion agree­ments (EPC), e.g. for off­shore wind HVDC plat­forms and char­ter par­ties for spe­cial-pur­po­se ships. He as­sists cli­ents in struc­tu­ring ship ac­qui­si­ti­on pro­jects, al­so in the form of lea­sing mo­dels. He ad­vi­ses bor­ro­wers and len­ders in the struc­tu­ring and draf­ting of ship fi­nan­ce do­cu­men­ta­ti­on. Ted is re­gu­lar­ly in­st­ruc­ted to act for cli­ents in the nego­tia­ti­on of ship­buil­ding con­tracts for all ty­pes of ves­sels, in­clu­ding in­stal­la­ti­on ves­sels, bulk car­ri­ers, tan­kers, pas­sen­ger fer­ries, and su­per­yachts - and on the re­st­ruc­tu­ring and re­scis­si­on of such agree­ments in ca­se of de­fault in per­for­mance, for ex­amp­le in ca­se of for­ce ma­jeu­re, and on other dis­pu­tes ari­sing un­der tho­se con­tracts. Ted re­pres­ents cli­ents in con­ten­tious mat­ters, in­clu­ding be­fo­re Lon­don ar­bi­tra­ti­on tri­bu­nals. He is re­spon­si­ble for the firm’s Deep Sea Mi­ning de­part­ment.

Ted is men­tio­ned pro­mi­n­ent­ly in the JUVE Hand­book 2019/2020 as a fre­quent­ly re­com­men­ded la­wy­er in the area of ma­ri­ti­me busi­ness law.
